Portuguese giant FC Porto, previously interested in Armenian national team midfielder Eduard Spertsyan, has set its key transfer priorities for the summer. According to fcporto.ws, the club’s new president André Villas-Boas and sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta plan to invest around €70 million to strengthen the squad.
Among the main objectives are the signing of Spanish midfielder Gabri Veiga from Al-Ahli, as well as the search for a central defender and a winger to add depth in attack. The 23-year-old Veiga is a versatile box-to-box midfielder who fits well into the Dragons’ style of play, thanks to his ability to join attacks and participate actively in pressing.
According to sources close to the club, Porto has already made an offer of around €15 million for Veiga. It remains unknown whether the player will accept Porto’s project, especially amid potential interest from La Liga clubs.
In this context, interest in Eduard Spertsyan remains, but it appears the Armenian midfielder is being considered as an alternative to Gabri Veiga. Portuguese media had previously reported that Spertsyan was on the list of potential midfield reinforcements.
Thus, the transfer future of Krasnodar’s key player could depend on the Spaniard’s decision, as well as Porto’s results at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 15.
