Yerevan's FC Pyunik has officially announced the departure of Armenia national team midfielder Solomon Ime Udo. According to Transfermarkt, the 30-year-old footballer has signed a contract with Al-Arabi, a club competing in the second division of the Saudi Arabian league. The details of the deal have not been disclosed yet.
Udo joined Pyunik in January 2024 and helped the team win the Armenian Premier League title in his debut season. During his time at the Yerevan-based club, the midfielder played 46 matches and recorded three assists.
A naturalized Nigerian-born footballer, Udo has been playing in Armenian clubs since 2015, and since 2020, he has represented the national team, earning 22 caps.
It is worth noting that Udo will not be the first Armenian football representative in Saudi Arabia. Another naturalized midfielder, Marcos Pizzelli, previously played in the country's top league, while former national team forward Zaven Badoyan spent the final years of his career in a third-division club.
