20-year-old central defender Poghos Krmzyan opened his scoring account for Armenian side Syunik by netting a goal in a First League match against Bentonit. The former Lokomotiv Moscow academy player scored the team’s second goal in a 2–0 victory, heading the ball into the net following a corner kick.
Krmzyan joined Syunik in the winter of 2025. Prior to that, he played for the youth teams of Sochi and Akron, and made 5 appearances for the Armenia U19 national team.
Despite suffering two serious knee injuries — cruciate ligament tears — Poghos continued his career and never lost his desire to play. His determination and return to the pitch serve as an inspiring example.
Krmzyan's football roots run deep: his grandfather, Poghos Krmzyan Sr., was also a professional footballer, playing for Yerevan clubs Ararat and Kotayk.
