The rematch between Eduard Vartanyan (27–4) and Ali Bagov (35–12), scheduled for February 6 at the anniversary ACA 200 event in Moscow, will not take place. The bout was cancelled due to health issues faced by the Armenian fighter.
Vartanyan reported that he underwent surgery following an episode of renal colic. At the moment, a stent has been installed, and the athlete will be unable to train at full capacity for the next month.
“Friends, greetings to everyone. Unfortunately, I have to share some unpleasant news. As a result of a renal colic attack, I had to undergo surgery to remove kidney stones. A stent has now been installed, and for the next month I won’t be able to train at full strength.
I ask the ACA league to reschedule my fight to March or April. I’m in excellent shape, highly motivated to step into the cage, and ready to deliver a truly bright, tough, and uncompromising showdown.
Special thanks to the doctors of Botkin Hospital for their efficiency, professionalism, and humane approach,” Vartanyan wrote on social media.
Earlier, Eduard Vartanyan officially returned to the ACA league and signed a contract for four fights. Information about the new date of his bout against Ali Bagov will be announced later.
