On April 25, at the 2026 European Freestyle Wrestling Championships, finals were held in five weight categories, where the first continental champions were determined. The decisive matches took place in the 57 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 79 kg, and 97 kg divisions.

Gold medals were won by four wrestlers from Russia and one representative of Azerbaijan, who is also originally from Russia.

Notably, Abdulrashid Sadulaev became a five-time European champion, having last won the tournament in 2020, while Akhmed Usmanov became a three-time European champion.

For the Armenian national team, bronze medals were won by Manvel Khndzrtsyan (57 kg) and Vazgen Tevanyan (65 kg).
