U20 Greco-Roman Wrestling World Championships Day 1 Finalists Set: Armenia and Russia Have Two Wrestlers Each

On August 16, the first competition day of the 2026 U20 Greco-Roman Wrestling World Championships came to an end. Following the preliminary rounds and semifinals, the finalists were determined in four weight categories — 63, 77, 87 and 130 kg.
Armenia and Russia each advanced two wrestlers to the finals. Representatives of Azerbaijan, Hungary, Japan and Uzbekistan will also compete for World Championship gold medals.
Armenia will be represented in the finals by Samvel Terteryan (77 kg) and Yurik Petrosyan (87 kg). Both Armenian wrestlers convincingly won their semifinal bouts.

The finals in the first four weight categories will take place on August 17, starting at 19:00 Moscow time.
