Armenian boxer Hovhannes Martirosyan (18-1) defeated Colombian Victor Julio (18-12) by unanimous decision at a boxing event in Hasselt, Belgium, on February 8.
The judges awarded Martirosyan victory in all 8 rounds, scoring 80-72 in his favor across the board. On this day, the 32-year-old Armenian was originally set to fight Salim Jengo (21-4-1) for the IBO Inter-Continental title, but the fight was canceled due to an injury to the Tanzanian boxer. Instead, Martirosyan fought an 8-round bout against the Colombian.
After his victory, Hovhannes proposed to his girlfriend right in the ring.
