United World Wrestling (UWW) has released the official calendar of international competitions for 2026. The upcoming season promises to be packed and will cover all major areas of global wrestling—from world and continental championships to ranking tournaments and traditional memorial events.

The competitive year kicks off in January. The first major events will be the prestigious tournaments in Turkey and France—Yasar Dogu & Vehbi Emre in Antalya and the France Grand Prix in Nice—which traditionally attract the strongest senior wrestlers. In February, attention will turn to Zagreb, Klippan, and Tirana, where open international tournaments featuring the leaders of global national teams will take place.

In spring, the focus will shift to continental championships. In March, the European U23 Championship will be held in Serbia, alongside the Oceania Championship in Samoa. April will be a key month for senior national teams, with the Asian Championship in Bishkek, the European Championship in Tirana, and the African Championship in Alexandria.

The summer period will be particularly busy. In May and June, Pan-American Championships, Asian junior and youth championships, and a series of traditional international tournaments in Europe, Asia, and the Americas are scheduled. July and August will focus on youth wrestling: the European U20 Championship in Skopje and the World U20 Championship in Bratislava will be the season’s main events for juniors.

Autumn will mark the year’s climax. In October, three world championships will take place: Veterans in Amman, U23 in Las Vegas, and the main season event—the Senior World Championship in Manama. These tournaments will define the global wrestling rankings and summarize the year.

The season will conclude in November and December with a series of international tournaments and official championships, including competitions in Egypt, the USA, Thailand, as well as the Commonwealth Championship in Cape Town.

The UWW 2026 calendar covers all age categories—from cadets to veterans—and confirms wrestling as one of the most global and competitive sports. For athletes, coaches, and fans, the upcoming season will be one of the busiest in recent years.
