Russian goalkeeper Aleksandr Melikhov will continue his career at Arsenal Tula. The club officially announced the signing of the 27-year-old keeper.
Melikhov is a product of Metallurg Novokuznetsk. In his youth, he played for Novokuznetsk and Tom Tomsk, making over 40 appearances and debuting in the Russian Premier League. Later, he spent three seasons with Akhmat Grozny.
Since 2022, Melikhov has been playing for Urartu Yerevan, with whom he won the Armenian Premier League and Cup in the 2022/23 season. He also has experience with the Russian U21 national team.
Interestingly, Melikhov followed former Urartu head coach Dmitry Gunko, who recently took charge of Arsenal Tula. However, the coach's son, midfielder Artemiy Gunko, remains at the Armenian club for now.
