On July 24, the first legs of the second qualifying round of the 2025/26 Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League concluded. After these matches, the UEFA ranking was updated, and important changes took place.
The main news is that Ukraine has overtaken Russia. The victories of Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk allowed the Ukrainians to climb to 27th place in the ranking. Russia, which has not participated in European competitions for three years and receives average points, dropped to 28th.

Armenia fights for the top 33
Armenian clubs continue their European campaigns and are trying to break into the top 33 of the ranking, which would allow the national cup winner to start in the Europa League rather than the Conference League. However, Armenia is currently only in 35th place, behind Iceland, Moldova, and Latvia.
Three Armenian clubs are participating in the second qualifying round of European competitions. They collected 0.375 points, bringing the season’s total to 1.000:
-
Noah (Armenia) — Ferencváros (Hungary) 1:2 (0 points)
-
Pyunik (Armenia) — Győr (Hungary) 2:1 (0.250 points)
-
Ararat-Armenia (Armenia) — Universitatea Cluj (Romania) 0:0 (0.125 points)
All three teams still have a chance to advance to the next round. Earlier, Urartu was eliminated in the first qualifying round after losing both matches to Belarusian Neman.
Belarus and Andorra impress with results
Belarusian clubs are leading in points earned and number of wins. Belarus already has 1.750 points and 6 wins in European competitions, while Andorra has 5 wins and 1.666 points. This is due to all four clubs starting from the first round and playing more matches.
Even so, the results are impressive: Belarusian teams are showing consistent performances. Andorran clubs are also shining brightly: 5 wins in European competitions is a huge success for this country. They have already defeated opponents from Ukraine, Romania, Luxembourg, and Bosnia.
Belarus will have only three clubs in European competitions next season, as they dropped out of the top 50 last season, so it is very important for them to score as many points as possible in order to have four clubs in European competitions again next season. And Andorra has already played with three clubs this season.
