Armenian boxer Noel Mikaelian (27-2) has secured a title fight against Sweden’s Badou Jack (28-3-3) for the WBC World Cruiserweight Championship. The bout will take place on May 3 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of a major boxing event headlined by the clash between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and William Scull.
For the 34-year-old Mikaelian, this fight is a chance to reclaim the title he once held. Back in November 2023, he captured the vacant WBC World Cruiser belt with a spectacular knockout win over Ilunga Makabu. The title became vacant after Badou Jack chose not to defend it. However, due to a lack of mandatory defenses, the belt was later stripped from Mikaelian.
Now, the fate of the title will once again be decided between former champions. The showdown promises to be intense, and for Noel, it’s an opportunity to reclaim what was his and prove once again that he is the best in the division.
