Noah have won the Armenian Cup for the 2025/26 season. In the final, Sandro Perkovic’s team defeated Urartu 4-2 and claimed the national trophy for the second year in a row.
The decisive match took place on May 14 at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium. The winner of the tournament earns a place in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
Urartu scored first, but Noah quickly turned the game around
Urartu made the stronger start to the match. The team actively used quick counterattacks and opened the scoring as early as the 8th minute, when Mikael Mirzoyan found the net after an assist from Khariton Ayvazyan.
However, Urartu’s lead did not last long. Noah quickly recovered and, before the break, managed not only to equalize but also to move ahead. Elder Ferreira scored first for Noah, before Marin Jakolis added the team’s second goal. According to SofaScore, the first half ended 2-1 in Noah’s favor.
Jakolis scored twice, Saintini netted after a corner
After the break, Noah started even more aggressively and effectively settled the question of the winner in the opening minutes of the second half. Marin Jakolis completed his brace, and then defender Nathaniel Saintini scored following a corner.
At 4-1, Urartu found themselves in a very difficult position, but the team did not give up. In the second half, the coaching staff made several successful substitutions, and one of them paid off: Miguel Veloso and Edik Vardanyan, who both came off the bench, combined to create Urartu’s second goal.
Still, it was not enough to bring Urartu back into the game. Noah calmly saw out the match and once again became Armenian Cup winners.
Second trophy in a row and an important ticket to Europe
This victory has double importance for Noah. The team not only defended their cup title but also secured participation at least in the second qualifying round of next season’s UEFA Conference League.
Noah can now focus on the title race in the remaining rounds of the Armenian Premier League. For Urartu, the situation is more complicated: after losing the final, the team will have to earn a European place through the league.
