Noah and Ararat-Armenia prevail in Yerevan derbies

On September 14, within the framework of Matchday 6 of the Armenian Premier League, two central derbies of the capital took place, featuring the country’s leading clubs that regularly represented Armenia in European competitions.
In the first match, Noah claimed a convincing 3-1 victory over reigning champions Pyunik. The heroes of the game were Marin Jakoliš, who scored a brace, and Elder Ferreira. Pyunik responded only with a goal from Gevorg Tarakhchyan, his first for the team.
In another clash, Ararat-Armenia proved stronger than Urartu, winning 3-2. The white-oranges secured the victory thanks to an own goal by Jirair Margaryan and strikes from Junior Balanta and Jirair Shanoyan. Urartu kept the intrigue alive until the end with two penalties converted by Bruno Michel.
After 6 rounds, Alashkert leads the standings with 12 points. Ararat-Armenia is in second place (10 points with a game in hand). Noah is fourth with 9 points.
