Once considered a candidate for Armenia’s U-21 national team, Nicolás Rossi Marachlian has joined the Swiss second-division club Bellinzona from Uruguay’s Peñarol.
The winger has signed a contract until 2028.
The 22-year-old has Uruguayan, Italian, and Armenian roots, but he only acknowledges the first two flags on social media.
Previously, he was invited to Armenia’s U-21 national team and agreed to join, but he never traveled to the country.
At the moment, Nicolás is not considered for Armenia’s senior national team, as there are more skilled players in his position. However, he has potential, and now that he is in Europe, the chances of him accepting an invitation to the national team have increased.
Nicolás is the younger brother of Diego Rossi Marachlian , who plays in MLS for Columbus Crew and represents Uruguay’s national team. Their Armenian roots come from their mother’s side.
Nicolás Rossi is a product of one of Uruguay’s biggest clubs, Peñarol. He has played 51 matches for the team, scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists.
