Nantes have dismissed head coach Michel Der Zakarian, according to reports from Le Parisien and L'Équipe.
The decision was made following the team’s poor start to the Ligue 2 campaign. Nantes suffered three defeats in their opening three matches of the season, including a heavy 2-5 home loss to Rodez on Saturday.
After the match, the 63-year-old coach said he would consider ending his managerial career if he was dismissed.
“If they sack me, I will retire. If you are not happy with my work, then fire me, that’s it,” Der Zakarian said.
The match against Rodez was therefore the final game for the Armenian coach in charge of Nantes.
