Armenian national team defender Nair Tiknizyan played his second friendly match for Belgrade’s Red Star in a game against the Russian team Zenit at the Fisht Stadium in Sochi. This match was an important test for the Armenian footballer in the context of his new club’s pre-season preparations.
The match ended with a confident 3:0 victory for Zenit. The first goal was scored in the 40th minute — a precise strike by Luiz Enrique. In the second half, the hosts scored twice more: Luciano Gondo found the net in the 63rd minute, and Enrique scored again in the 74th minute.
For Tiknizyan, it was a crucial moment — he played almost the entire match, 82 minutes, and showcased his skills several times. In the 53rd minute, he received a precise pass from Mirko Ivanić and made a run down the left wing, delivering a key pass into the penalty area. However, the ensuing attack did not result in a goal. Tiknizyan also actively supported the defense and helped organize counterattacks.
Red Star continued to fight despite the unfavorable score, creating several dangerous chances. However, despite the Armenian defender’s efforts, Zenit managed to secure the victory.
Tiknizyan is continuing to adapt to his new team, and his actions in defense and on the wing suggest that he could become an important part of the squad in the upcoming season.
