Belgrade’s Crvena Zvezda has officially announced the signing of Armenian defender Nair Tiknizyan. The left-back has signed a three-year contract and will wear the number 71 shirt.
The 25-year-old joins from Lokomotiv Moscow, where he played 122 matches since 2021, scoring 16 goals and providing 17 assists. He also played in 8 UEFA Europa League matches and won the Russian Super Cup with CSKA Moscow in the 2018/19 season.
In his first comments as a Crvena Zvezda player, Tiknizyan expressed confidence in his decision:
“The impressions are very positive. I’ve joined a big club that consistently plays in European competitions. I understand the responsibility that comes with it. I hope to help Crvena Zvezda achieve its goals. I’ve already met my teammates and coaching staff—everything went as expected. Let the coaches assess my qualities, but my aim is to help the team reach the Champions League group stage.”
Sporting director Mitar Mrkela also emphasized the importance of the transfer:
“Tiknizyan is our third defensive reinforcement this transfer window. We’ve completely reshaped our backline, strengthening it with experienced players. Nair is one of them. He regularly played in the Russian Premier League for CSKA and Lokomotiv and is a consistent player for the Armenian national team. He’s a fast and reliable defender whose activity on the left wing will help us in the new season.”
Nair Tiknizyan was born on May 12, 1999, in Saint Petersburg. A product of CSKA’s academy, he progressed from the youth setup to the first team and also spent time on loan at Avangard. Since March 2023, he has been a regular in the Armenian national team, earning 22 caps.
With Tiknizyan’s arrival, Crvena Zvezda continues its active preparations for the new season, aiming to qualify for the Champions League group stage.
