Krasnodar head coach Murad Musaev has spoken about the future of team captain and Armenia national team midfielder Eduard Spertsyan.
The coach noted that interest surrounding a possible transfer of the Armenian footballer to a European club has remained high for several years. However, Spertsyan himself has learned to deal with these rumors more calmly and continues to make progress at Krasnodar.
According to Musaev, the constant talk that Spertsyan must leave the Russian league does not always reflect the real situation. The head coach emphasized that Eduard is not stagnating. On the contrary, he continues to develop, set new records and fight for trophies.
“I don’t know why, but everyone says that Edik must definitely leave. But he is not stagnating. On the contrary, he is constantly developing, setting records and has won a title. Statistically, this season has been a record-breaking one for him,” Musaev told Championat.
The coach also recalled that Spertsyan has been named the best midfielder of the Russian Premier League for three consecutive years and, in his opinion, could receive that recognition for a fourth time.
Musaev named a major offer from a good club as the main condition for Eduard Spertsyan’s possible move to Europe. According to him, if such an offer arrives, Krasnodar owner Sergey Galitsky would most likely meet the player halfway.
“We often talk about this topic, and Edik understands one thing: if there is a big offer from a good club, Sergey Nikolaevich will most likely meet him halfway. And if that does not happen, and he continues to fight for the highest places in Russia and break goal-contribution records, that is also a great path,” Musaev said.
At the same time, the Krasnodar head coach stressed that Spertsyan enjoys his career at his current club and remains an important figure for the team every day.
Eduard Spertsyan is a product of Krasnodar’s academy and has been one of the club’s key players for many years. In recent seasons, the Armenia international midfielder has regularly been linked with a possible move to European leagues, but for now he continues to play for the Krasnodar side.
