Armenia U20 team falls to Russia in second friendly match

Armenia’s U20 basketball team continues its preparations for the FIBA U20 European Championship Division B, which kicks off on July 11 in Yerevan. As part of their training camp, the Armenian squad played a friendly against their Russian counterparts and suffered a heavy defeat — 45:90.
Armenia’s starting five featured Gregory Kazaryan, Amari McCool, Daniel Sanamyan, Daniel Kirakosyan, and Yura Melikyan. Russia’s lineup included Pivtsaykin, Belov, Stolbetsky, Rublyov, and Mironov.
Daniel Sanamyan was Armenia’s top performer with 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. The coaching staff used wide rotation, testing various tactical options and giving playing time to all players.
This was Armenia’s second match against Russia during their preparations. In the previous encounter, Armenia looked more confident and lost by a smaller margin — 82:90.
