Armenia U20 falls to Portugal in EuroBasket Playoffs

The Armenia U20 national basketball team suffered a defeat in their first playoff match for 9th–16th places at the FIBA U20 European Championship (Division B), taking place in Yerevan. Peter Domingues' team lost to Portugal with a score of 65–76.
After three quarters, Armenia held a 3-point lead, but the Portuguese side turned the tide in the final period and came away with the win.
One of Armenia's standout performers was Yura Melikyan, who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Daniel Kirakosyan also played a solid game, scoring 15 points.
Armenia's next match will take place tomorrow, July 19, against Denmark, who lost 74–90 to Hungary. The Armenian team still has two more matches to go, battling for 13th–16th places in their home EuroBasket tournament.
