The Second Winter Pan-Armenian Games have concluded in Jermuk, bringing together the best Armenian athletes from around the world. Among the tournament’s champions, cross-country skiers Mikael Mikaelyan and Vasilina Khachaturyan stood out, winning the most medals.
Leader of the Armenian National Team – Mikael Mikaelyan
25-year-old Mikael Mikaelyan from Ashotsk has been a leading cross-country skier for the Armenian national team for many years. He has participated in two Olympic Games and multiple international competitions. In Jermuk, he confirmed his status by winning two gold medals in individual races – in classic and freestyle. Additionally, Mikael secured a bronze medal as part of the relay team.
Rising Star – Vasilina Khachaturyan
17-year-old Vasilina Khachaturyan from Sochi is rapidly gaining popularity in cross-country skiing. She currently ranks 13th in Russia’s sprint rating among her age group. At the Pan-Armenian Games, Vasilina delivered outstanding performances, winning gold medals in the individual freestyle race and the relay. In the individual classic race, she finished second, adding a silver medal to her collection.
