On August 8, Inter Milan, led by Cristian Chivu, played their first friendly match as part of preparations for the 2025/26 season. The team had recently returned from vacation after the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and faced Monaco away.
The match was far from easy for the Milan side. As early as the 2nd minute, Magnus Akliouche put the hosts ahead, and in the 36th minute, Hakan Çalhanoğlu was shown a straight red card. However, despite playing with ten men for more than an hour, Inter managed to snatch the win. In the 60th minute, Lautaro Martínez equalized, and in the 80th minute, new signing Ange-Yoan Bonny, making his debut for the Nerazzurri, scored the winning goal after a brilliant solo run.
Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan came on as a substitute in the 66th minute and, according to the Italian press, significantly strengthened the team’s performance:
