Mesrop Barbaryan Becomes World Judo Champion Among Veterans

Armenian judoka Mesrop Barbaryan has won a gold medal at the World Veterans Judo Championship taking place in Paris. The 44-year-old athlete competed in the under 60 kg weight category and demonstrated confident and consistent performance throughout the tournament.
Barbaryan secured victories over two competitors from Kazakhstan and also defeated representatives of Russia, Italy, and France. Thanks to a series of convincing matches, he became the world champion and stood on the highest step of the podium.
Barbaryan was part of Armenia's national team from the early 2000s until 2010. He is currently a coach.
