Armenian MMA fighter Melsik Baghdasaryan (8-2) will have his fifth UFC fight this Saturday, February 22. The 33-year-old athlete will face Brazilian Jean Silva (14-2).
In an interview with Armenian Sports News ahead of the fight, Baghdasaryan shared why he believes every Armenian should represent their country:
“If your last name ends in ‘-yan’ and you were born in Armenia or outside of it but are Armenian, then you must be a source of pride for the nation. A true Armenian must make their presence known, show who they are, and do the right things.
Every person takes care of their family—their wife, children, relatives—works, and strives for a better life. The same applies to the nation: a nation is a big family, and every Armenian should think about its well-being. Contributions can vary, from small deeds to great achievements.”
