Melkonyan to miss Armenia camp due to injury, Sadoyan called up

Urartu forward Karen Melkonyan will not join the Armenia national team for the training camp scheduled from March 22 to 29 and will miss the friendly match against Belarus due to injury.

The 27-year-old striker had previously been included in Yeghishe Melikyan’s squad after a long absence. Melkonyan made his only appearance for the Armenia national team in 2021 and had not received call-ups for a long period since then.

Thus, the forward’s return to the national team is once again postponed.

At the same time, the coaching staff made changes to the squad, calling up Alashkert left-back Arsen Sadoyan.

The friendly match between Armenia and Belarus will take place on March 29 in Yerevan.
