On March 23, riots broke out at the "Dinamo Arena" in Tbilisi after the match between the national teams of Georgia and Armenia (6:1). After the final whistle, Georgian fans stormed the field and headed toward the away stands, where Armenian fans were seated. Some Georgian spectators began making obscene gestures in their direction.
Later, even more Georgian fans gathered near the Armenian sector, leading to a verbal altercation, with various objects thrown toward the Armenian stands. The escalation of the conflict was prevented thanks to the Armenian national team players, who approached their fans and thanked them for their support, thereby easing the tension.
Despite the match ending, Georgian fans remained on the field for a long time, celebrating their team's victory. Officials have not yet commented on the incident.
