39-year-old Luka Modrić will continue his career in Europe — the legendary Croatian has signed a contract with AC Milan! Not in MLS, not in Saudi Arabia like many veteran players nowadays, but in a club under huge pressure, with massive expectations and a hunger for titles.
According to media reports, the deal is for one year with an option to extend for another season. The midfielder’s salary will be €4 million per year. His medical is scheduled for Monday or Tuesday.
Modrić left Real Madrid after his contract expired, having spent 13 seasons with the club.
It’s worth noting that Milan changed their head coach this summer: Massimiliano Allegri has returned to the team, replacing Sérgio Conceição.
