Sunderland U21 assistant head coach Matt Craddock commented on the performance of 18-year-old Armenia youth international forward Finn Geragusian in the match against Everton U21 in the Premier League 2.
The match ended in a 2–1 victory for Sunderland, with Heraguzyan emerging as the main hero of the encounter. The forward won a penalty and converted it himself — the goal proved to be the winner. It was also his 10th goal of the current season and his third in a row.
After the match, Craddock highlighted the young striker’s versatility and dedication:
“Against Everton, Finn had to operate out of position because Ahmed was playing as the central striker, but he handled the task very well and showed a great attitude.”
“He scored a goal, which we know he is capable of, but he also did a tremendous amount of work off the ball.”
“In the second half, he made a 60-yard sprint to win the ball back, and then another 60-yard run in the opposite direction trying to create an attacking opportunity for himself.”
“Tonight we saw that aspect of his game, and I am very pleased with him, as well as with the rest of the lads.”
Thus, Geragusian not only extended his scoring streak but also demonstrated a high level of teamwork and physical fitness, becoming a key figure in an important victory for the youth side.
