In the central match of the 14th round of the Russian Premier League, Krasnodar claimed a hard-fought 2–1 away victory over Moscow’s Spartak.
In the 18th minute, Aleksandr Chernikov opened the scoring after a corner kick, and in the second half, the Bulls doubled their lead — Jhon Córdoba converted a rebound after Eduard Spertsyan’s shot hit the crossbar.
However, the closing minutes were extremely tense for Vladimir Ivić’s side. Córdoba received a red card in the 88th minute, and in added time, Douglas Augusto was also sent off. Despite their numerical advantage, Spartak only managed to reduce the deficit — Lovro Majer García scored in the 90th minute.
Due to suspensions and yellow card accumulation, Krasnodar will miss four players in the next match against Baltika: Diego Costa, Nikita Krivtsov, Jhon Córdoba, and Douglas Augusto.
After this round, the Bulls remain at the top of the standings with 32 points, two ahead of CSKA Moscow.
Eduard Spertsyan played 73 minutes and was one of the most active players on the field:
4 shots (1 hit the post), 19 accurate passes (66%), 3 key passes, 3 tackles, 1 interception, 8 duels won out of 11, SofaScore rating — 7.4.
Aleksandr Chernikov was named Man of the Match by Match Premier TV channel.
