In the 26th round of the Russian Premier League, Krasnodar narrowly defeated Dynamo Makhachkala 3–2 away and maintained its lead in the standings. The winning goal for the Bulls was scored by their captain and Armenia national team midfielder Eduard Spertsyan.
Moïse Kobnan opened the scoring, followed by a Dynamo equalizer from Hosseinnezhad. Before halftime, João Batchi put Krasnodar back in front. In the second half, Eduard Spertsyan scored the team’s third goal with a powerful and beautiful long-range strike. Later, he had the chance to score a brace, but missed a penalty in the 79th minute.
Krasnodar seemed to be cruising to victory, but in that same 79th minute, defender Diego Costa was shown a red card. Spertsyan was then subbed off, replaced by defender Kaio. Krasnodar played the remainder of the match with 10 men and conceded just one goal—scored by Kirill Zinovich.
Despite the pressure, Krasnodar held on for the win and continues to lead the RPL with four matches left in the season.
