Armenian-American UFC fighter Katlyn Chookagian (Cerminara) made a successful return to the Octagon after more than two and a half years away from competition. At UFC Edmonton, held on October 17 in Edmonton, Canada, the 37-year-old secured a stoppage victory over Mackenzie Stiller.
The women's flyweight bout (125 lbs / 56.7 kg) ended in the opening round. Chookagian earned a technical knockout victory at 4:46 of the first round, with just 14 seconds remaining.
This was Katlyn's first fight since March 2024, when she suffered a unanimous decision loss to Maycee Barber at UFC 299. Despite the lengthy layoff, the experienced fighter managed to make a successful comeback.
Following the victory, Chookagian's professional MMA record stands at 19 wins and 6 losses. Her opponent, Mackenzie Stiller, who was making her UFC debut, suffered the second defeat of her professional career, bringing her record to 6 wins and 2 losses.
Chookagian previously challenged for the UFC women's flyweight championship. In February 2020, she faced reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko but lost by technical knockout in the third round.
The victory in Edmonton marks a successful start to a new chapter in the Armenian-American fighter's career following her extended absence from the Octagon.
