Karen Khachanov continues his successful run at Wimbledon. The Russian tennis player, ranked No. 22 in the ATP rankings, has reached the third round of the Grand Slam tournament.
In the Round of 64, Khachanov confidently defeated Germany’s Yannick Hanfmann, the world No. 56. The match ended in a straight-sets victory for Karen — 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.
Khachanov played a steady match and did not allow his opponent to take a single set. Karen made one key break in each set and closed out the match without unnecessary nerves.
In the next round of Wimbledon, Khachanov will face Italy’s Flavio Cobolli, who is ranked No. 10 in the ATP rankings. Cobolli previously reached the Roland Garros final, but his results on grass have been less convincing.
For Khachanov, the upcoming match will be a serious test, but the victory over Hanfmann showed that Karen is approaching the third round in good form.
