Karen Khachanov advances to Geneva ATP quarterfinal

Karen Khachanov (ATP 24) has reached the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Geneva after defeating Japan’s Kei Nishikori (ATP 62). The match ended with a score of 7–5, 2–5, as Nishikori was forced to retire in the second set due to injury.

The first set was tightly contested, but Khachanov managed to break serve at a crucial moment to take the lead. In the second set, Nishikori appeared more dominant and was up 5–2 before he had to withdraw because of physical issues.

In the quarterfinals, Karen Khachanov will face Austrian Sebastian Ofner (ATP 128).
