An unusual episode took place in Los Angeles on the eve of Inter Milan’s open training session — involving an Armenian driver and the club’s star Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri from Sportitalia was driving to Inter training in a car driven by an Armenian from LA Private Car Service. Having learned who his passenger was taking and where, the driver did not miss the chance to send greetings to the former captain of the Armenian national team. He recorded a short audio message for Mkhitaryan, thanking him for representing Armenia at a high level and for remaining a great footballer.
Palmeri played the recording to Mkhitaryan right at the training session. Henrikh smiled as he listened and responded with a video message to the taxi driver, thanking him for the kind words.
According to Palmeri, Mkhitaryan is the second most popular Inter player among local fans in Los Angeles, right after team captain Lautaro Martínez.
As a reminder, the Milan club is currently in the U.S. preparing for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Inter will play their first match on June 18 in Pasadena against Mexican side Monterrey.
