Armenia futsal national team captain Vladimir Sanosyan shared his thoughts on the draw for the final stage of the 2026 European Championship and assessed his team’s chances.

For the first time in history, Armenia’s national futsal team will take part in the EURO. The team will play in Group B alongside the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Lithuania. The tournament will be held in three countries — Lithuania, Latvia, and Slovenia — from January 21 to February 7, 2026.

“It’s a very good group for us, we have a real chance to reach the playoffs. Ukraine are the favorites in our group, but I wouldn’t say they’re much stronger than us. They’re just more experienced — they’ve already played at this level, while it’s our first time. I’m sure we’ll compete well and do everything possible to get out of the group.

We played against the Czech Republic in 2022 and won. Since then, they’ve improved a lot — I watched their match against France, and they looked good. It will be tougher than before. At least, we must qualify from the group in second place. After that, everything will depend on us,” said Sanosyan.
