The 2024/25 season was historic for FC Noah. The team not only won the Armenian championship for the first time in its history, but also completed a golden double by capturing the national cup.
This triumph brought the club not only glory, but also financial rewards from the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA).
Sportaran reviewed the tournament regulations and found out what prize money is allocated to the winners.
Prize money for winning the Armenian Premier League
According to the FFA professional competition rules, the champion of the Armenian Premier League receives:
10 million drams (approximately $25,000 USD).
Prize money for the Armenian Cup
For winning the national cup, Noah received an additional: 6 million drams (around $15,000 USD).
Total rewards
In total, the club earned 16 million drams for the season — approximately $40,000 USD. This is a modest amount by professional football standards, especially considering that just the entry fee for the league is 4.5 million drams.
Interestingly, prize money is officially provided only to tournament winners. Clubs finishing second and third in the league, as well as the cup runner-up, receive only medals — without any financial rewards from the FFA. However, additional bonuses from the Premier League’s title sponsor, Fastex, are possible, though their terms are not publicly disclosed.
European competitions — the main source of income
European tournaments remain the main financial source for Armenian clubs. Winning the championship grants Noah a spot in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. Even in the worst-case scenario, participation guarantees at least $1 million USD from UEFA.
Comparison with the Russian champion
The contrast with other countries is staggering. For instance, in the same season, Krasnodar, who won the Russian Premier League, is reported by media to receive over 1.2 billion rubles — about $13 million USD.
Thus, Krasnodar's prize money is nearly 325 times greater than what Noah earned for winning two trophies.
