On March 1, the UWW Ranking Series tournament Muhamet Malo 2026 in Greco-Roman wrestling concluded in Tirana, Albania. Russia’s Artur Sargsyan won the gold medal in the 97 kg weight category.
This was the second Ranking Series event of 2026 following the Zagreb stage. The Armenian national team did not participate in either tournament.
It should be noted that ranking points earned at these events count toward seeding at continental championships and the World Championships. Additionally, starting from 2027, Ranking Series results will also be included in the Olympic qualification system, with the top three wrestlers in each weight category earning Olympic quotas.
The next Ranking Series event will take place on June 4–7 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, while the final stage will be held on July 15–19 in Budapest, Hungary.
In Tirana, the Russian team won five gold medals. Azerbaijan and Iran each secured two gold medals, while Kazakhstan claimed one.
