Italy and Georgia qualify for Futsal EURO 2026

The first two winners of the play-offs for the 2026 Futsal European Championship have been determined. Georgia defeated Slovakia on aggregate (a 4:1 home win, followed by a 3:5 away defeat) and will play in the continental tournament for the second consecutive time.
Italy edged Kazakhstan in a dramatic duel. After exchanging victories (2:1 and 2:3), the match went into extra time, and the decisive moment came in the penalty shootout, where the Italians were more accurate (2:0). For Italy, this is their 13th consecutive EURO appearance, while Kazakhstan will miss a major tournament for the first time since 2014.
It should be noted that in the group stage Kazakhstan lost to Armenia, which, under Ruben Nazaretyan, topped the group and qualified for the European Championship for the first time in history.

EURO 2026 participants so far:
Armenia, Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Italy, Latvia (host), Lithuania (host), Poland, Portugal (defending champions), Slovenia (host), Spain, Ukraine.
The European Championship will take place from January 21 to February 7, 2026, in Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovenia. For Armenia, this will be their debut in such a major tournament.
