On January 26 in Ljubljana, the second round of the group stage at Futsal EURO 2026 concluded. The spotlight was on Group C, where the first serious playoff implications took shape.
Spain beat Belarus and are close to first place
Belarus — Spain — 0:2
Spain secured their second consecutive win and confirmed their status as one of the tournament’s main favorites. The team confidently controlled the game at the Stožice Arena, although Belarus put up solid resistance and kept the contest close for a long time.
According to UEFA’s Technical Observers Group, David Novoa was named Player of the Match.
After two rounds, Spain have made a strong claim for top spot in the group, while Belarus are on the brink of elimination.
Slovenia deliver a goal show and keep the drama alive
Belgium — Slovenia — 4:5
The tournament hosts produced one of the most spectacular matches of the championship. After conceding first, Slovenia turned the game around and led 5:2 by halftime, showing the same attacking power they displayed against Belarus (4:0).
In the second half, Belgium pushed hard and cut the deficit to the minimum, but couldn’t find the equalizer. Belgium forward Rahou brought his tournament tally to five goals.
Matej Fideršek was named Player of the Match.

The battle for the second playoff spot promises to be extremely tense. Spain have already secured a place in the playoffs, while Belarus have been eliminated.

Futsal EURO 2026 is being held in Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovenia from January 21 to February 7.
Special mention goes to Armenia, who are making their European Championship debut and have already secured first place in Group B and a playoff berth. Armenia will face Lithuania in the third round on January 28.
