Tomorrow’s UEFA Champions League final between Milan’s Inter and Paris Saint-Germain will feel like a repeat of the clash from two years ago — the Nerazzurri lineup has changed very little since the 2023 final against Manchester City.
In that match, held in Istanbul, Marcelo Brozović was in the starting XI, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan appeared only near the end due to injury. In Munich, it will be different — the Armenian midfielder will start the final, replacing the Croatian, who has since left the club.
Other changes include: Marcus Thuram replacing Edin Džeko in attack, Yann Sommer starting in goal instead of André Onana, and likely Jan Bisseck joining the back three in place of Matteo Darmian — although the latter is still with the team and may get his chance.
Thus, seven players from the 2023 final’s starting lineup will start again: Lautaro Martínez, Nicolò Barella, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Federico Dimarco, Denzel Dumfries, Alessandro Bastoni, and Francesco Acerbi.
The 2024/25 Champions League final will take place on May 31 at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
