On September 30, the first half of the second round matches of the 2025/26 Champions League took place. The matchday turned out to be full of surprises, but “Inter” had no problems.
The Milan club confidently defeated Prague’s “Slavia” 3:0 at home. Lautaro Martínez and Denzel Dumfries scored in the first half, and Martínez completed a brace in the second half. After two rounds, “Inter” leads with the maximum 6 points.
Armenian midfielder of the “Nerazzurri” Henrikh Mkhitaryan remained on the bench for this match. The 36-year-old played a full game against “Cagliari” over the weekend, while in the Champions League he gave way to Petar Sučić.
Other results of the day:
-
In the early matches, “Atalanta” and Real Madrid celebrated victories.
-
“Bodø/Glimt” hosted “Tottenham” in the Arctic and the English side escaped only in the 89th minute thanks to an own goal — 2:2.
-
In Istanbul, another sensation: “Galatasaray” narrowly defeated “Liverpool” 1:0, with Victor Osimhen converting the decisive penalty.
-
“Atlético” continued their scoring spree: after the derby with “Real,” Diego Simeone’s team crushed “Eintracht” 5:1. Interestingly, the Germans had beaten “Borussia” Mönchengladbach 6:4 in the previous Bundesliga round but seemed drained.
-
“Chelsea” earned a minimal victory over José Mourinho’s “Benfica” — 1:0. The only goal came from Ricardo Rios’ own goal.
-
“Bayern” had no trouble against “Pafos” — 5:1, while “Marseille” convincingly dismantled “Ajax” — 4:0.
