At the FIBA U20 European Championship in Yerevan, the first two teams to earn promotion to Division A have been determined — Croatia and Latvia.
Croatia secured a spectacular win over Turkey — 109:86 — despite trailing by 11 points early in the game. Key contributions came from Dino Subašić (19 points, 8 rebounds) and Andro Mirčeta (20 points off the bench), helping turn the tide. This victory marks Croatia’s return to the elite after a two-year absence.
Latvia advanced to the final after a dominant 75:55 win over Switzerland. The standout performer was Rolands Šulcs, who scored 20 points with perfect shooting accuracy. Latvia built a 24-point lead by halftime and maintained it comfortably.
The Division B final will take place on Sunday, July 20. Croatia and Latvia will compete for gold, while Turkey and Switzerland will face off for third place and the final promotion ticket to Division A.
Armenia will play Austria on the last day of the tournament for 15th place.
