Slovan Bratislava, featuring former Armenia international Tigran Barseghyan, suffered their second consecutive heavy defeat in the league phase of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League. In Matchday 2, the Slovak club, managed by Yaya Touré, lost 3-0 to Germany's Stuttgart.
The match took place on October 14 in Bratislava. The visitors opened the scoring in the 29th minute through Deniz Undav. Slovan's situation worsened in the second half when Sandro Cruz scored an own goal in the 64th minute. Ermedin Demirović completed the scoring in the 90th minute.
Despite the heavy defeat, Tigran Barseghyan was one of Slovan's standout performers. The 33-year-old Armenian footballer played 81 minutes and received a 7.2 rating from the statistical platform SofaScore, the highest among Slovan's outfield players.
Barseghyan was heavily involved in the home side's attacking play, repeatedly attempting to create dangerous situations and scoring opportunities for his teammates. During his time on the pitch, the Armenian winger registered four shots and provided four key passes.
In total, Barseghyan was directly involved in eight potentially dangerous attacking situations. However, his shots produced a combined expected goals (xG) value of just 0.07, indicating that most of his attempts came from relatively low-quality shooting positions.
