Khachanov Advances to the Round of 32 After Defeating Shevchenko in Three Sets

Russian tennis player of Armenian descent Karen Khachanov (ATP 16) successfully passed the opening round of the tournament, claiming a hard-fought victory over Kazakhstan’s Alexander Shevchenko (ATP 98).
The match was intense and lasted three sets. Shevchenko took the first set 7:6, but Khachanov then seized the initiative and confidently closed out the match. The final score was 6:7, 6:2, 6:3 in favor of the Russian.
Khachanov showed solid performance on serve and significantly raised his level in the second and third sets, allowing him to control the match and leave his opponent with no chance for a comeback.
In the Round of 32, Karen will face American Jenson Brooksby (ATP 49).
