Khachanov beats world No. 4 to reach US Open third round

Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov, ranked No. 50 in the ATP standings, has advanced to the third round of the 2026 US Open.
In the second round, Khachanov claimed an impressive victory over world No. 4 Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada. The match ended in four sets, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.
Karen lost the opening set in a tie-break but then took control of the match and won the next three sets in a row.
In the first round, Khachanov comfortably defeated Argentina’s Roman Burruchaga, dropping just four games in a 6-3, 6-0, 6-1 victory.
In the third round of the US Open, Khachanov will face the winner of the Benjamin Bonzi vs. Ignacio Buse match.
