Borussia Mönchengladbach claimed a narrow 1:0 victory over Mainz and climbed to 9th place in the table. This is the Foals’ fourth win in their last five matches, allowing the team to escape the relegation zone and secure a position in the middle of the standings.
Ranos’s return to the main squad became a forced step for the coaching staff — six attacking and midfield players were injured at once: Honorat, Kleindienst, Hack, Ngoumou, Sander, and Neuhaus. Due to the shortage of squad depth, Gladbach’s coaches called up the Armenian forward from the reserve team, which also had a match on the same day.
The Armenia national team striker Grant-Leon Ranos entered the pitch in the 79th minute and received a SofaScore rating of 6.6, standing out with useful defensive work in the final minutes as the team held onto their winning score.
For Ranos, this was his sixth Bundesliga match of the current season, with one goal scored.
