On July 13, the international weightlifting tournament Kakhi Cup concluded in Tbilisi, featuring athletes from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Armenia, Bahrain, Romania, and Uzbekistan.
Although the participants competed in different weight categories, the winner was determined not by the total lifted weight but by the so-called Sinclair coefficient. This system allows for an objective comparison between athletes of different body masses: the lighter the athlete and the higher the result, the greater the Sinclair score.
Armenian athletes Rafik Harutyunyan (81 kg category) and Ara Aghanyan (102 kg) also participated in the tournament.
Gor Minasyan (+110 kg) lifted a total of 440 kg (200+240), surpassing Revaz Davitadze, who competes in the 96 kg category.
