The head coach of Slovenian side Olimpija, Erwin van de Looi, commented on the upcoming second leg of the UEFA Conference League play-off against Armenian club Noah.
In the first match in Ljubljana, Olimpija suffered a 1:4 defeat.
“The weather conditions in Abovyan surprised us a little. The wind is very strong, the pitch is slightly smaller, and we have to adapt to that. These are unusual circumstances, but they can even help us,” said van de Looi.
The coach also stressed that his team must play more boldly in the return match:
“Since we are trailing in the score, we have to take more risks, which is understandable in our situation. We made many mistakes in the first game, especially in defense. Tomorrow we need to fix them, and I believe we will succeed.”
The second leg between Noah and Olimpija will take place on Thursday in Abovyan.
