Armenian national team defender Georgiy Harutyunyan has successfully concluded his first season with Hungarian side Puskás Akadémia, earning silver medals in the national league. In the upcoming season, the 20-year-old footballer will make his European competition debut as the club enters the UEFA Europa Conference League from the second qualifying round.
Harutyunyan joined Puskás Akadémia in the winter of 2025, transferring from Krasnodar, and played 15 matches, recording one assist. Interestingly, during the season, he demonstrated versatility—starting in his usual position as a central defender, later featuring as a left back, and finishing the season as a defensive midfielder.
A successful debut in a foreign league and the upcoming European experience make the 2024/25 season a milestone in the young Armenian player’s career.
It is also worth noting that his former club Krasnodar won the Russian championship for the first time this season. Harutyunyan began the season with the Russian club but only played in Russian Cup matches, so he will not receive a championship medal.
