Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan was the main figure in the club’s matchday program ahead of the Champions League group stage clash against Slavia Prague. In the interview, the Armenian footballer shared memories of his childhood, career inspirations, and his special bond with the Milan club.
Mkhitaryan recalled that his love for football began at an early age: “My father gave me my first ball when I was four years old. Since then, football has become an inseparable part of my life. As a child, I played closer to attack and always wanted to score, trying to be like him.”
When asked what quality he would like to have from his teammates, the midfielder highlighted Marcus Thuram’s technique: “In one-on-one duels he is incredibly strong and knows how to find unexpected solutions.”
The footballer also emphasized how deeply he is connected with Inter: “This is my fourth season here. Now Inter is my life, my second home.” Among his idols, Mkhitaryan named Ronaldo, Javier Zanetti, and Youri Djorkaeff.
Interestingly, if not for football, Mkhitaryan might have pursued a career in law or economics. But destiny decided otherwise: “From the very beginning I dreamed of playing football, and I followed that dream with full determination,” he admitted.
The match Inter – Slavia Prague will take place today, September 30, at 23:00 Yerevan time.
